Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same Blue Apprentice as the science game?

No. From 2016 to 2025 this domain hosted Blue Apprentice, a science-adventure game for elementary students made by Galxyz, Inc. That game and its apps are retired. Under new, independent ownership, Blue Apprentice now publishes learning ideas, explainers and thoughtful guides to school and educational products. We are not affiliated with Galxyz, Inc., and we can't help with accounts, subscriptions or downloads from the old app.

I had a subscription to the old app. Can you refund it?

We can't — we never held those accounts or payments, and the company that did is no longer operating this domain. If you still have an active charge, contact your card issuer or the app store you subscribed through (Apple or Google) directly.

How do you choose which products to recommend?

We begin with a specific learner and use case, compare specifications, availability and public feedback, and look for recurring strengths or problems rather than relying on a single review. We then explain who each option suits and what its trade-offs are. The full method is on our How We Review page.

Do brands pay to be included?

No. No brand can buy a spot on a list or influence a ranking. We earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links, which is how the site is funded — see the affiliate disclosure.

Do you test every product yourselves?

No. We are an independent publication, not a testing lab, and many guides are based on careful editorial research. If we have used or tested a product ourselves, the article will say how. Otherwise, we rely on product documentation, public customer feedback and relevant specialist sources, and we do not present that research as personal experience.

What age ranges do you cover?

Roughly ages 4 to 14 — from a first pencil grip through middle-school binders, calculators and study-desk gear. Every guide states the age range it's written for.

How often are guides updated?

Each guide shows the date it was last checked. We revisit them when a pick's quality slips, it goes out of stock for a long stretch, or something clearly better lands.

Is every article a product review?

No. Product guides are one part of Blue Apprentice. We also publish learning ideas, practical explainers and resources for parents and teachers. Useful learning should not always begin with buying something.

How do I suggest a product or report an error?

Email us — the address is on the contact page. Corrections get priority; we'd rather fix a guide than defend it.

Still stuck? Send us a message — we read every one.
